Housing
Provide a secure, escape-proof enclosure sized for the adult snake. Include at least two hides (warm and cool side), a water bowl large enough to soak in, and appropriate substrate.

Heating & temperature
Create a thermal gradient using a thermostat-controlled heat source. Ball pythons need a warm side around 31–32°C and a cool side around 25–27°C. Always use a thermostat.
Humidity
Maintain species-appropriate humidity (ball pythons ~55–65%, higher during shed). Monitor with a hygrometer and adjust ventilation and substrate as needed.
Feeding
Feed appropriately sized frozen/thawed rodents on a schedule suited to the snake's age and size. Never leave live prey unattended. Allow rest after feeding before handling.
Handling
Let a new snake settle for about a week before handling. Support the body, keep sessions short at first, and avoid handling during shed or shortly after feeding.
Health checks
Watch for clean sheds, clear eyes, steady weight and a good feeding response. Find a reptile-experienced vet before you need one.
